Breaking the Cycle of Poverty
Life
skills, education and vocational training are needed to help a person
become self sufficient and able to care for himself and his family.
Our Students
The students at the
Cross Training Center are undereducated men and women who live in poverty in the
Omaha area. Most have been gang members, incarcerated or homeless in
the previous 6 months prior to enrollment. Now they are ready for a
change and are willing to help themselves and work hard to achieve a better future. When they graduate from the Cross Training Center, they are fully equipped to be successful in life and in the career of their choice.
Training and Job Experience
Students are assigned jobs within our various departments
that are created for the purpose of vocational training and job
experience. They learn valuable skills and receive real work experience.
Promotions from one job to another or from one department to another are
given based on assessed skills, job performance and interpersonal achievements. Students learn skills and gain experience in the
following areas and more:
Computer Refurbishing
Electronics Recycling
Auto Mechanics
Auto
Detailing
Warehousing
Appliance Repair
Electronics Repair
Customer Service
Salesmanship
Janitorial
Food Services

Life Changing
Negative
behavioral patterns and poor interpersonal skills are often employment
barriers for our students. Our principle based curriculum enables our
students to turn these patterns around and succeed.
Career Focused
We train and encourage goal setting and career development throughout our program.
Consequently our students aim towards higher education, business
ownership and corporate advancement.
Faith-Based
Our
principles and practices are Christian, holistic and based on the Word of God. As
a result, our students have opportunities to make healthy choices and
transform their lives.
